Ian Christensen is the Senior Pastor of New Life Christian Centre International, an Assemblies of God church in North London, and Principal of New Life Bible School. Ian is a widely respected Bible teacher who travels internationally releasing individuals and churches into effective prayer ministry. Ian is married to Dennise and they have three grown-up children and six grandchildren.

ANDREW DAVIES

​

Thirty-three years old, happily married to Emma with a great job in dentistry, a strong Christian faith, life seemed just about perfect for Andy Davies. But then, shockingly, Andy suffered a massive stroke, leaving him with 'Locked-in syndrome'. Paralysed and only able to communicate by a series of blinks, Andy's life, and that of his family, was changed forever. Despite this, Andy has been able to pen his autobiography Pressed But not Crushed and is an active member of his local church.

JOHN EDWARDS

John Edwards spent over twenty years of his life as a drug addict/alcoholic. He was homeless and suicidal, was abused and spent time in psychiatric hospitals. He has had cancer twice, a liver transplant and hepatitis C, but has now recovered. He has set up several Christian rehabilitation centres, homeless outreaches and feeding centres. He is happily married, a stepfather and grandfather and lives in Bradford, England.

KEITH GENTRY

Keith Gentry was born in 1965 in Gloucestershire, England. He was connected to the Lord Jesus from the age of 8 years old. He has a many years’ experience in teaching and is now a minister at a church in Milton Keynes, with responsibility for their small group programme. Caris Grimes is a Consultant General and Colorectal Surgeon in Kent and lead for Patient Safety in General Surgery. As part of this role, she is involved in the investigation of serious incidents in surgery. Her teaching and research in Global Surgery is based at Kings College London. Caris lives in Surrey. She is married to Ian Nott. She has two children and two step-children.

JOHN & RITA HELVADJIAN

They have been involved in prayer ministry since 1990 and are members of C3 Lane Cove Church in Sydney, Australia, where they established that Church’s prayer ministry team. They are regularly engaged in prayer ministry work through their church and privately. They are both passionate about seeing the power of the Holy Spirit at work, healing and setting people free. To see God’s children coming into their full potential of what the Lord has for them. Their family is made up of two wonderful sons and daughter-in-laws and six grandchildren.

PETER LYNE

​

Peter Lyne left his job as a teacher of physical education and religious education in 1966 and is now celebrating fifty years in Christian ministry. From the earliest days of the charismatic movement in the UK and as a key figure in the development of new church networks, his primary gifting as a prophetic teacher has been recognised across the denominational spectrum. He and his wife, Linda, are now based in New Zealand and still travel extensively overseas. They have three children, who have also adopted New Zealand as their home, and they now have ten Kiwi grandchildren who are a constant source of inspiration.

Wendy is on staff at King’s Arms Church, Bedford, where she leads a supernatural school that equips believers to see God’s Kingdom break in as part of their everyday lives. Her passion is to see believers really grasp who they are in Christ, so that they are empowered to run the unique race God has marked out for them.

Jacq Marlow has always been interested in historical context that can make a story come alive. Many years ago his mother gave him a Study Bible, with charts and timelines of events which opened his eyes to riches he had not previously seen. He lives in a heavy engineering city but works in a light engineering company, with a background in biology and most loves the countryside with its birdsong.

PAUL MARTIN

Paul Martin has been a lawyer for over 40 years and has been a partner with Wellers since 1983. Based in London, Paul serves charity and not-for-profit organisations in the UK and overseas. He has served as a trustee of several local and international charities (two of those as joint founder) and has travelled worldwide to consult on charity projects. In recent years, Paul has been a speaker at charity conferences in China, Singapore, Australia and the USA. In 2015/16 Paul consulted with Beijing Normal University on the China charity legislation which became law in 2016. Married to Claire, they have two married children.

PETER MAY

Peter May trained at the Royal Free Hospital School of Medicine in London. He was a staff worker for the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship (UCCF) before being a family doctor in Southampton for thirty years. He was a lay member of the General Synod of the Church of England for twenty-five years and served on its Board of Mission. He was chairman of the UCCF trust board 2003–2010 and was co-founder of the Bethinking.org website. Married to Heather, they have four children and currently thirteen grandchildren.

Her second novel title, Time to Shine was published in 2015. Drawing on her personal experience in dealing with divorce, debt, her daughter’s drug addiction and subsequent death, she aims to comfort others with the comfort she has received. A former chair of ACW and secretary to American author Paul Gallico, she is actively involved in a large church in Torquay, runs a book club and writers’ group and, now a grandmother, has been happily remarried for many years.

Barry Woodward is the author of the bestselling book Once an Addict and founder of the charity Proclaim Trust. Barry Woodward grew up in Manchester, where he got drawn into the drugs scene, taking cannabis, amphetamines and LSD. This led to a life of heroin addiction and drug dealing. After being dependent on heroin for fifteen years and spending a number of terms in prison, Barry had what he describes a 'religious experience', which resulted in his life being totally transformed. This led to him becoming an evangelist. Since then, he has become a contemporary communicator who is humourous, passionate and inspirational. 

Each year, he speaks at approximately 130 events, and occasionally contributes to discussions related to drug issues on the BBC, Channel 4 and Sky TV. He and his wife Tina are members of the Bridge Church, Bolton, Greater Manchester.

Tim is a storyteller, presenter and author who has spent more than 20 years communicating and sharing stories of hope and passion through media. Tim has worked with New Zealand’s biggest broadcasters and production companies as well as some of the world’s most recognised Christian ministries. His most recent project was directing and presenting Focus on the Family’s globally released The Family Project educational series along with the documentary, Irreplaceable. Tim is married to Jesmae and they live in bush behind Auckland, New Zealand, with their four boys and a little princess.

Dr Mark Stibbe is an award-winning Christian author who has over thirty popular books and five academic books in print. Many of his popular books have been published by Monarch (I am Your Father, 2010), SPCK (My Fathers Tears, 2014) and Authentic Media (The Presents of God, 2014). His academic books are required reading in universities and seminaries all over the world. Recently Mark has taken to writing works of fiction and is currently collaborating with G.P. Taylor in developing a series of novels about an English spy vicar in the time of the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars.

Eleanor Watkins is the author of more than forty books published by a variety of publishers such as Lion, Christian Focus and Scripture Union. More recently she is known as the author of the Beech Bank Girls series from Dernier Publishing. Most of her titles are fiction for young people from first readers to YA, and she especially enjoys writing historical fiction. She lives in an old farmhouse overlooking the beautiful Wye valley, near the book town of Hay-on-Wye, with her husband and a collection of cats. She has four adult children and five grandchildren. Her passions are books and reading, the countryside and natural world, travel, friends of all ages, people watching. Eleanor comes from a long line of farming people and many of her books have a rural and local setting.

ROB WHITE

Rob White, along with his wife, Marion, lead a church-plant in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England, where Rob was senior minister of the Baptist church until May 2004. Prior to that he was national director of Youth For Christ in the UK. They have been fulfilling a wider ministry, giving input to leaders, leadership teams and churches of all denominations. Rob and Marion, together with Ben and Deb Cooley, organised a major event in November 2008 called The Stand, which attracted nearly 6,000 people to the Birmingham NEC, out of which they co-founded Hope for Justice, an organisation whose mission is to investigate cases of human trafficking and to rescue the victims. Rob is also a trustee of The Message Trust. He and Marion have three daughters and six grandchildren.

For ten years Sarah worked as a performance storyteller and writer with Footprints Theatre Trust. She travelled around all manner of communities, with all manner of stories, throughout the East Midlands, UK. She also explored word and story through her freelance work, and through writing for church life. Now she lives in London and continues to fall more in love with Jesus, the Great Storyteller, and more in love with his amazing Church across the globe. She likes a good cup of tea, good stories, and a good crisp autumn day.
